This is my main writing project. As the name suggests, it’s three novels, each telling a section of an over-arching story. I’ve been writing and rewriting them since I was nine. It’s a real labour of love. And you can read it here.

Overarching Plot: A secret society of magical creatures called ‘dainisa’ struggle to find their place in a world where their every action is dominated by remaining hidden from humans. Their self-declared ‘princess’, Lao Yamaguchi, struggles to maintain their secrecy through war, genocide, the slow death of their language and culture, as guided by the divine intervention of some of God’s least favourite angels. All the while Lao’s putting up with this assmunch named Arez Smythe (“it’s pronounced like the boring Smith but spelt S-M-Y-T-H-E. Silent ‘e’!” as he likes to declare) who constantly asks questions Lao can’t answer and isn’t supposed to think about like “why don’t we just NOT be a secret society? why don’t we just kill the humans before they kill us? why aren’t you desperate to date me?”

Throughout the series, Lao explores these questions, tries to figure out his own opinion on the matter, while both the angels and the jyju (a council of elite powerful dainisan monarchs) keep telling him to stop trying to think, he’s not very good at it.

All this is narrated by a human who identifies their self as ‘The Prophet’, who was chosen (coughBLACKMAILEDcough) by the Angel of Prophecy to record the divine intervention into Lao’s life and try to make sense of all these emotions those damn mortals just won’t stop having.

Check it out if you’re interested. Personally I think it’s great, and I hate complimenting myself.
